The FAA will be permitting limited operations at U.S. airports including John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark International Airport this evening to reposition aircraft carrying passengers that were diverted from their final destination on Tuesday, September 11 provided they met heightened security requirements. Over the past 24 hours, the Port Authority has been working with the FAA to implement measures that meet the FAA's requirements. The Port Authority will be reducing parking fees this evening in recognition of diverted flights returning to Port Authority airports. Passenger departures from JFK, LGA, and EWR this evening are not anticipated. Passengers should check with their airlines before travelling to the airport. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
